Tampa Code Camp - July 14, 2007

I'm still recovering from the 3rd annual Tampa Code Camp that was held yesterday - what a great event and many thanks to Keith Kabza and Joe Healy for putting on another great Code Camp in Florida!  These things keep getting bigger and better - I can't wait till we have to rent out local sports stadiums to hold all the crowds!

If you haven't yet been to to a Code Camp - check it out - it's basically a FREE, all-day technical geek-fest held on Saturdays (so no excuses about missing "work") at your community college or technical training center. These events are a great way to meet other technical folks in the community, start your own technical speaking career, or get ramped-up on the latest technology. Many of our local MVP's and technical legendaries like Ted Pattison speak at these events - what better way to get that training that you need without waiting for your employer to cough-up those non-existent training funds and let you take time off from work to sharpen your own technical saw...the next one in Florida is targeted for Saturday, August 25th in Jacksonville - check-out https://www.jaxdug.com for more details.

Many thanks to those who attended my talk on the Web Service Software Factory using Windows Communication Foundation - and special congratulations to attendee #14 who won a free copy of Windows Vista Ultimate as part of the live demo.  In case you didn't catch my session - we built a WCF service from scratch using the Software Factory to calculate a random winner from the crowd...Thanks to Russ Fustino for suggesting this idea - what a great way to keep everybody's attention during the 1st session of the morning.

If you're interested in watching my MSDN webcast on Web Service Software Factory using Windows Communication Foundation you can find it athttps://msevents.microsoft.com/CUI/WebCastEventDetails.aspx?culture=en-US&EventID=1032341967&CountryCode=US

Thanks and see y'all at the next Code Camp!
