NDS is the peak national industry association for disability services. The non government disability services sector employs more than 40,000 staff across Australia, with a membership of more than 650 organisations.

The conference covered a wide range of issues including the impact of globalisation on the employment of people with disability to how service providers business and governments are responding.

In the 2008/09 financial year alone, Microsoft Australia donated more than $10 million software to the disability services sector. This included assisting more 220 organisations across Australia, as well as Vision Australia.
