Windows Enterprise included in MSDN AA
Windows Vista Enterprise is now available to MSDN Developer and Designer Academic Alliance subscribers for lab use!
Like Windows Vista Business, the product key available on MSDN Subscriber Downloads for Windows Vista Enterprise is Key Management Service (KMS). It is displayed on the Product Keys page with the other volume license keys at the bottom of the page.
For Academic Alliance subscribers, KMS provides the ability for university lab administrators to manage the KMS host machine and support hundreds of thousands of activations for client machines. The KMS host machine activates with Microsoft either through the internet or by telephone. In turn, the client machines connect to the KMS host to activate and for subsequent Windows Genuine Advantage validation.
In addition, Windows Vista Enterprise may be used for 30 days before activation is required.
