IE8 for Windows Embedded Standard 2009 is Now Available

Internet Explorer 8 is now available on the ECE site for installing on a Windows Embedded Standard 2009 database.

Internet Explorer 8 is the latest version of the Microsoft web browser. Internet Explorer 8 helps provide end users with a faster, easier, and more secure user experience:

  • Faster:  Internet Explorer 8 is more responsive with new pages and tabs, opening up fast and reliably. An end user can now get to the information in fewer steps. It provides a one click access to an end user's webmail, favorite news sites or other online services.

  • Easier:  Reduce the steps to accomplish many common tasks, and automate an end user's access to real time information updates. An end user can keep track of his/hers favorite sports team, news, weather with a single click.

  • More Private: Helps protect an end user's privacy and confidential information.

  • More Secure: Helps protect and stop malicious software from reaching end user's PC, and makes it easier to detect when a website is an imposter.

The download for Windows Embedded Standard 2009 consists of a database update that includes supports for the following languages:  English, Arabic, Chinese (PRC), Chinese (Taiwan), Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Portuguese (Portugal), Portuguese (Brazil),  Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish.
