How often do you get a second shot?

Microsoft Learning has a great offer out at the moment which covers you for a second shot at an exam if you fail.

Now, I know personally that sitting exams is hard work, and the added stress if you don't get that pass the first time around is a killer, but this offer really provides a great safety net for those people who are eager to give the certification streams a red hot one, but aren't feeling fully confident.

Check out the link, and make sure you read the details, as there are certain requirements of the offer to make sure you can re-book for free if you should be unlucky enough to not pass the first time through. But hey, now is a great chance to take a double swipe at an exam, and who knows, for some of us, two's a charm ;)

    Now that spring break is here, I though I'd do a test or two. However, after going through the whole process of registering with Pearson VUE and scheduling the exams yadda yadda, I get this message:-

    The order must have at least 1 item that qualifies for the discount.

    WHAT!!

    I'm doing the 072-316: IT Academy: Developing and Implementing Windows-based Applications with Microsoft Visual C# .NET and Microsoft Visual Studio .NET.

    Any ideas anyone???

    :( Urghh, that's disappointing. As this is a worldwide program, it's going to be hard to get an answer immediately Sushant, but I will start by sending a few emails today to see if I can't shed some light on this. Has anyone else had this problem?

    I've sent an email off to the Learning team, and am waiting for their response. Sushant, I think the issue may be linked to the exam stream you are taking. IT Academy exams are subsidised for IT Academy members, and I'm not sure this offer can be used in conjunction with the ITA offer. But let me get back to you with the teams response.

    Ok, the response from the Learning team is that Academic exams are not covered by this offer, YET! However, they are working on it at the moment, and will let me know as soon as it is covered. In the meantime, anyone who wants to sit the exams with the second shot offer can do so by sitting the full MCP exam equivalent.

    Got another update from the Learning team, the Second Shot offer is now open to the 072 exams through VUE testing centres, and should be supported by Prometric in April.
