Windows Phone 7.5 “Mango” Update is Putting People First

Remember the old saying, “the world doesn’t revolve around you.” Well, in the case of the Windows Phone 7.5 update release – it does. The latest features and experiences are designed to build on the phone’s intuitive, people-first foundation, using integrated social networking and conversational threads, for connecting with the people in our lives.

For example, the new Groups feature lets users create groups from their contacts and turn them into a personalized Live Tile on the Start screen. From there, people can use the feature to quickly contact everyone, or to see communication received from people in that group, whether it’s a call, text, or email. The 7.5 update also features intelligent multi-tasking so people can quickly switch from one app to the next without affecting battery life or performance.

The update has begun and will gradually be rolled out to existing Windows Phone owners. Additionally, it will be pre-loaded onto a number of new phones that will be released by operators in the coming months. Windows Phone users can check on the status of their phone’s update on the “Where’s My Phone Update?” table on the Windows Phone website. More information can be found on the Windows Phone Team blog.

The phone continues to integrate the latest and greatest from across Microsoft, including Bing, Xbox LIVE, Internet Explorer and Windows Live. Interested in learning more? Visit the Microsoft News Center.
