MCMS SE Q&A
Roger Wilson asked the following questions. Answers in bold.
Does CMS only allow 15 users to be added to rights groups
(authors, editors, moderators) or does SE only allow 15 users to be signed in at one
time? Only 15 users in total can be added to all the right groups. This applied
to all non-subscriber rights groups. You can have an unlimited number of users in
the subscriber groups.
Is it still possible to add AD Groups to CMS rights groups? If so, how does the 15
total user limit apply? You cannot add AD Groups. The only exception is for
Subscriber groups.
If you have 2 processor box and 2 SE licenses, will SE utilize both processors? You
can only have one SE server serving content to end users. If you install SE on a 2
processor box, it will bind to a processor - you can change the processor via the
SCA. If you want another SE as an authoring server, you can point it to the same DB
but it will have to be installed on another machine.
Where and when can a small business find the SE editiion? We are an Open License customer,
however, our vendors insist that CMS does NOT have a SE verion. Microsoft
is absolutely releasing a SE of MCMS which will be available by end of calendar year.
Expect to see the web content at microsoft.com/cmserver be refreshed in the upcoming
weeks.
