2007 Office system released to manufacturing

It's been awhile since I've blogged... things have been hectic these past couple weeks.

Yesterday, we announced that 2007 Office system RTMed. RTM is a commonly used 3-letter acronym that stands for "Release to Manufacturing". This not only includes the client technologies, but also the server technologies (Office SharePoint Server 2007) as well... along with Windows SharePoint Services 3.0. This is a monumental release, and I'm personally ecstatic to see Office RTM on schedule! It's a tremendous engineering feat.

What this means is that 2007 Office system and WSS 3.0 will be available to businesses by the end of this month... and available to customers early 2007.

BTW - Richard Riley and I met reviewers last week in New York City and Boston to talk about Office SharePoint Server. This week, members of my team are at SharePoint Connections presenting sessions.
