Find the License Server ID for a Remote Desktop License Server

You need the license server ID when communicating with the Microsoft Clearinghouse and when performing certain tasks on the RD Licensing server, such as using the Managing RDS CALs Wizard in Remote Desktop Licensing Manager.

Use the following procedure to find the license server ID for a Remote Desktop license server.

Membership in the local Administrators group, or equivalent, on the RD Licensing server that you plan to configure, is the minimum required to complete this procedure. Review details about using the appropriate accounts and group memberships at https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=83477.

To find the license server ID for a Remote Desktop license server

  1. On the license server, open Remote Desktop Licensing Manager. To open Remote Desktop Licensing Manager, click Start, point to Administrative Tools, point to Remote Desktop Services, and then click Remote Desktop Licensing Manager.

  2. Right-click the license server for which you want to view the license server ID, and then click Properties.

  3. Click the Connection Method tab. The license server ID is listed in the lower portion of the dialog box.
