Notes

  • To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the Administrators group on the local computer, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority. If the computer is joined to a domain, members of the Domain Admins group might be able to perform this procedure.

  • To open Internet Services Manager, click Start, click Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Internet Services Manager.

  • Do not allow Write permissions to the PBSData folder until you are ready post data, and remove the Write permission as soon as you finish posting data. For more information, see Related Topics.

  • You should create a user account that is used solely for posting phone books. This user account should be a local user account on the PBS server, not on a domain, and it should be a member of the Guests group. Do not activate this account until you are ready to post data, and disable this account as soon as you finish posting data. You should also disable this user account from logging on locally and from logging on through Terminal Services. For more information, see Related Topics.

Information about functional differences

  • Your server might function differently based on the version and edition of the operating system that is installed, your account permissions, and your menu settings. For more information, see Viewing Help on the Web.
