Viewing DUA Actions in an IIS Log

Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) maintains a log of all site activity on the server. By using the IIS log, you can view the server requests and HTTP responses.

To view an IIS log

  1. On your Windows Web server, the IIS logs are located in the \WINDOWS\system32\Logfiles\W3SVC1 directory.

  2. Open the most recent log and scan for an entry where your Device Update Program was requested. The log should have the following format:

    12:59:01 <ip address> GET <Device Update Program Filename> 200

A 200 response means the request was successful. If DUA polls the Web server and the request is still not logged, there is a problem with the DUA settings. Check the device configuration in Target Designer, specifically check the DUA settings, and deploy a new image to the device.

If the request is logged but shows a 404 response, check the Device Update Program file name and path on the remote server to ensure that it matches the Device Update Agent configuration on the run-time image.

For more information, see Troubleshooting Device Update Agent.
