Autoenrollment is accomplished by scheduling a task in Task Scheduler. The process requires group policy to define the certificates that needs to be enrolled.

Common Uses
Point of Service (POS) devices and thin clients typically use smart card services, certificate management, and credential management to help protect user data when communicating over a network. Devices such as ticketing kiosks and automated teller machines (ATM) might use that functionality in addition to role-based access control.

In addition to driver-class installers included in Windows Embedded Core, this package includes the Microsoft.Windows.Hardware.Devices.ClassInstaller.SMARTCARDFILTER-DriverClass class installer.
