Simple Network Time Protocol (SNTP) Catalog Items and Sysgen Variables (Compact 2013)

In Windows Embedded Compact, you can support synchronizing the device time with the appropriate time zone, a time resource on the Internet, or with Daylight Savings Time (DST). Windows Embedded Compact implements three different modes for the Simple Network Time Protocol (SNTP): unicast, multicast, or anycast.

The Simple Network Time Protocol (SNTP) service synchronizes the clock on a Windows Embedded Compact powered device with a time reference available on the Internet. When you include this feature, the time-server registry settings will be included in the run-time image. With the SNTP service, the device periodically checks the time reference on the time server. |
