Preparing to Build a Subproject (Windows Embedded CE 6.0)

1/6/2010

After you create a subproject in your OS design, if you have previously built a run-time image based on your OS design, you can build your subproject independently of your OS design. Therefore, you should make sure that the OS design is already built into a run-time image. For more information, see Building a Run-Time Image.

To prepare to build a subproject

  1. In Solution Explorer, expand the Subprojects node to display the subprojects in the OS design.

  2. From the Build menu, choose Configuration Manager and then select a configuration for your OS design.

    Note

If you estimate your final run-time image size to be at least 32 MB, you must enable a run-time image size that is larger than 32 MB. For more information, see Enabling a Run-Time Image Size Larger Than 32 MB.

  3. In Solution Explorer, select the subproject you want to build, and then, from the context menu, choose Properties.

  4. Verify that all tabs in the Subproject Settings dialog box display the correct settings and that any subproject conditionals you added are correct.

When the settings are correct, you can build your subproject based on your OS design.

For more information, see Subproject Settings Dialog Box.

  5. To close the dialog box, choose OK.

You are ready to build a subproject. For more information, see Building a Subproject or Building a Selected Subproject.
