Windows Media DRM for Network Devices (Windows CE 5.0)

Send Feedback

Microsoft Windows Media Digital Rights Management 10 for Network Devices (WMDRM-ND) is a an implementation of the Windows Media digital rights management system for Windows. It extends the reach of protected content to Windows CE consumer electronic devices such as networked media devices (NMDs). This allows these devices to access protected content while enforcing the rights specified by the content owner in the Windows Media DRM license.

Components built on the Windows Media Format 9.5 SDK, such as Windows Media Connect, run on Microsoft Windows XP and allow consumers to share their digital media content (audio, video, and photos) with these devices within their home over their home IP network.

The Media Query Engine (MQE) gives your application the ability to connect to Windows Media Connect (WMC), and provides support for WM DRM 10 registration. If selected, the MQE will perform WM DRM 10 registration and inform the client application about its authorization and registration status via events. You may use this component, or use the information provided below to write your own implementation. WM DRM 10 for Networked Devices will work on any processor and BSP supported by Windows CE.
