IP Multicasting for IPv4 (Windows CE 5.0)

Send Feedback

IP multicasting is used to provide efficient multicast services to clients that may not be located on the same network segment. For instance, Windows Sockets applications can join a multicast group to participate in a wide-area conference.

Windows CE is level-2 (send and receive) compliant with RFC 1112.

IGMP is the protocol used to manage IP multicasting.
