ITaskFactory2 Interface

Describes and extended ITaskFactory interface that a task factory instance should implement.

MSBuild is now included in Visual Studio instead of the .NET Framework. You can use MSBuild 12.0 side-by-side with versions previously deployed with the .NET Framework. For more information, see What's New in MSBuild 12.0.

Namespace:  Microsoft.Build.Framework
Assembly:  Microsoft.Build.Framework (in Microsoft.Build.Framework.dll)

The ITaskFactory2 type exposes the following members.

Properties

  Name Description
Public property FactoryName Gets the name of the factory.MSBuild is now included in Visual Studio instead of the .NET Framework. You can use MSBuild 12.0 side-by-side with versions previously deployed with the .NET Framework. For more information, see What's New in MSBuild 12.0. (Inherited from ITaskFactory.)
Public property TaskType Gets the type of the task this factory will instantiate.MSBuild is now included in Visual Studio instead of the .NET Framework. You can use MSBuild 12.0 side-by-side with versions previously deployed with the .NET Framework. For more information, see What's New in MSBuild 12.0. (Inherited from ITaskFactory.)

Methods

  Name Description
Public method CleanupTask Cleans up any context or state that may have been built up for a given task.MSBuild is now included in Visual Studio instead of the .NET Framework. You can use MSBuild 12.0 side-by-side with versions previously deployed with the .NET Framework. For more information, see What's New in MSBuild 12.0. (Inherited from ITaskFactory.)
Public method CreateTask(IBuildEngine) Creates an instance of the task to be used in a batch. The task factory logging host will log messages in the context of the task.MSBuild is now included in Visual Studio instead of the .NET Framework. You can use MSBuild 12.0 side-by-side with versions previously deployed with the .NET Framework. For more information, see What's New in MSBuild 12.0. (Inherited from ITaskFactory.)
Public method CreateTask(IBuildEngine, IDictionary<String, String>) Create an instance of the task to be used, with an optional set of "special" parameters set on the individual task invocation using the MSBuildRuntime and MSBuildArchitecture default task parameters. MSBuild provides an implementation of this interface, TaskHostFactory, that uses "MSBuildRuntime", with values "CLR2", "CLR4", "CurrentRuntime", and "*" (Any); and "MSBuildArchitecture", with values "x86", "x64", "CurrentArchitecture", and "*" (Any). An implementer of ITaskFactory2 can choose to use these pre-defined MSBuildRuntime and MSBuildArchitecture values, or can specify new values for these parameters.MSBuild is now included in Visual Studio instead of the .NET Framework. You can use MSBuild 12.0 side-by-side with versions previously deployed with the .NET Framework. For more information, see What's New in MSBuild 12.0.
Public method GetTaskParameters Get the descriptions for all the task's parameters.MSBuild is now included in Visual Studio instead of the .NET Framework. You can use MSBuild 12.0 side-by-side with versions previously deployed with the .NET Framework. For more information, see What's New in MSBuild 12.0. (Inherited from ITaskFactory.)
Public method Initialize(String, IDictionary<String, TaskPropertyInfo>, String, IBuildEngine) Initializes this factory for instantiating tasks with a particular inline task block.MSBuild is now included in Visual Studio instead of the .NET Framework. You can use MSBuild 12.0 side-by-side with versions previously deployed with the .NET Framework. For more information, see What's New in MSBuild 12.0. (Inherited from ITaskFactory.)
Public method Initialize(String, IDictionary<String, String>, IDictionary<String, TaskPropertyInfo>, String, IBuildEngine) Initializes this factory for instantiating tasks with a particular inline task block and a set of UsingTask parameters. MSBuild provides an implementation of this interface, TaskHostFactory, that uses "Runtime", with values "CLR2", "CLR4", "CurrentRuntime", and "*" (Any); and "Architecture", with values "x86", "x64", "CurrentArchitecture", and "*" (Any).
