Specify virtual network adapter settings

To specify virtual network adapter settings

  1. Open the Administration Website.
  2. In the navigation pane, under Virtual Machines, point to Configure and then select the appropriate virtual machine.
  3. In Configuration for your virtual machine, select Network adapters.
  4. In Connected to for the adapter you want to configure, select the virtual network to which you want to connect the virtual network adapter.
  5. In Ethernet (MAC) address, do one of the following, and then click Apply:
    • Select Dynamic for a dynamic media access control (MAC) address. Unless you have a specific reason to set the MAC address for a virtual machine, we recommend you use Dynamic.
    • Select Static, and then type a static MAC address in the space provided.

Note

To perform this procedure, you must have the appropriate permissions. If you do not have the appropriate permissions, you will either receive an error message or you will not be able to view certain menu items and options described in this procedure. To change your permissions, contact your Virtual Server administrator. For more information, see Securing Virtual Server.
