The AlertCategory class contains attributes that allow alerts to be categorized.

Remarks
SQL Server Agent categories provide optional attributes that are used to distinguish groups of alerts.
With the AlertCategory object, you can:
- Create groupings for alerts.
The category name must be unique.
This namespace, class, or member is supported only in version 2.0 of the Microsoft .NET Framework.
To get AlertCategory object properties, users must be a member of SQLAgentUserRole database role on the MSDB database or be a member of the sysadmin fixed server role.
To set AlertCategory object properties, users must be a member of the sysadmin fixed server role.
To create or drop an alert category, users must be a member of the sysadmin fixed server role.
