Example Quality of Service (QoS) Settings
Tópico modificado em: 2012-02-29
This topic provides example settings for Quality of Service (QoS) in Lync Server 2010.
Edge Server Settings
On the internal edge of the Servidor de Borda, the QOS policy is configured on the destination ports. On other servers and clients, the policy is based on source ports. Therefore, on the internal edge of the Servidor de Borda, the policy is configured so that when remote ports are within a modality range, the policies on the remote ports are used.
Example QoS settings for an Internal Edge Server
Ports | Description |
---|---|
49152-54000 |
Used for audio, the client is configured to use 20 ports, for example, ports 53081-54000. Other servers, such as an Servidor de Conferência A/V, use ports 49152-54000. |
54001-60000 |
Used for video, the Lync Server client is configured to use 20 ports, for example, ports 54001-54020. Other servers, such as a Servidor de Conferência A/V, use ports 54001-60000. |
60001-65000 |
Used for application sharing, the client is configured to use 20 ports, for example, 60001-60020. Other servers, such as an conferencing server, use ports 60001-65000. |
65000-65020 |
Used for file transfer, the client is configured to use 20 ports, for example 65001-65020. This is a point to point file transfer only. |
To use these settings on the internal edge, configure the following policies:
Audio If the destination port is in the range 49152-54000 for UDP/TCP, assign Differentiated Services Code Point (DSCP) value “A.”
Video If the destination port is in the range 540001-60000 for UDP/TCP, assign DSCP value “B.”
Application sharing If the destination port is in the range 600001-65000 for TCP, assign DSCP value “C.”
File transfer If the destination port is in the range 60001-65020 for TCP, assign DSCP value “D.”

These are example settings only. You can customize the values used in your deployment. |
For more information about creating a QoS policy on the A/V Edge Service, see Criando uma política de QoS (Qualidade de Serviço) para o serviço de borda A/V.
To use these settings for Lync Server clients, configure the following policies:
Audio If the source port is in the range 53081-54000 for UDP/TCP, assign DSCP value “A.” For clients, also add that EXE is communicator.exe to avoid marking traffic from other applications.
Video If the source port is in the range 540001-54020 for UDP/TCP, assign DSCP value “B.” For clients, also add that EXE is communicator.exe to avoid marking traffic from other applications.
Application sharing If the source port is in the range 600001-60020 for TCP, assign DSCP value “C.” For clients, also add that EXE is communicator.exe to avoid marking traffic from other applications.
File transfer If the source port is in the range 65001-65020 for TCP, assign DSCP value “D.” For clients, also add that EXE is communicator.exe to avoid marking traffic from other applications.
To use these settings for Lync Server, configure the following policies:
Audio If the source port is in the range 49152-54000 for UDP/TCP, assign DSCP value “A.”
Video If the source port is in the range 540001-60000 for UDP/TCP, assign DSCP value “B.”
Application sharing If the source port is in the range 600001-65000 for TCP, assign DSCP value “C.”

File transfer is for point-to-point only, so it does not apply to the server. |
