This chapter describes how to add servers to a farm, how to rename servers, and how to remove servers from a farm.

Topology examples are available that can be used as a template for building out a farm. For more information, see the Topologies for SharePoint Server 2010 model in the Diagramas técnicos (SharePoint Foundation 2010) article.

The following tasks are part of managing the topology of a farm:
