Required Text. The globally unique identifier (GUID) of the policy. If you create a policy by using the SharePoint Server 2010 user interface, this GUID is automatically generated by SharePoint Server 2010. However, if you create the policy XML manually, you must supply a GUID. |

Remarks
An information management policy is a set of rules for a certain type of important content. Policy enables administrators to control and evaluate who can access the content, how long to retain information, and how effectively people are complying with the policy.
