Internal Movement Window

Specifies the take and place lines for items that you want to move between bins when they are not demanded by a particular source document. To process this manual movement, you then transfer the internal movement details to the Inventory Movement window where you can register it.

Additional Information

You can use manual movements, which are movements that do not have source documents, to perform tasks such as placing items that were not consumed in some internal process, back into the warehouse or reorganizing the contents of some bins in the warehouse.

Because internal movements are used for moving items between bins in the warehouse, you can only use them to handle items that are available in bins at the specific location. Therefore, when you choose the Item No. field, the Bin Contents List window opens, showing bins where items can be taken from to move them to another bin. The bin where the item is to be positioned is defined by the To Bin Code field in the internal movement header and also copied to the line.

For the same reason, internal movement documents, unlike inventory movement documents, only have one line per movement, which represents both the take and the place actions.

The Internal Movement window functions like a worksheet in that the actual movement cannot be processed directly from this window. When the single line is filled in the Internal Movement window, you use the Create Inventory Movement function to send the line to the Inventory Movement window from where the actual movement can be processed and registered as a take and a place line.
