Create variables on the Data type tab

Use this variable type to gain access to all Microsoft Dynamics AX extended data types.

This information applies only to Product builder.

  1. Click Product information management > Common > Product builder > Product models.

  2. Double-click a product model.

  3. Click Product model.

  4. Select the Data type tab and then press CTRL+N to create a new line.

  5. In the Variable field, select one of the extended data types defined in Microsoft Dynamics AX.

  6. In the Variable field, type the name of the variable.

  7. Select the Array check box if you want the variable to be an array, that is, an indexed table that contains several values (rows). For more information about arrays, see About variable groups of array type.

  8. If the current variable is an array, type the number of array elements (rows) in the Max. field.

  9. In the Default field, you can assign a default value for the variable. If the variable is an array, default values can be assigned to each array element by clicking Default value.
