SpeedDial Configuration Service Provider

4/8/2010

Use the SpeedDial Configuration Service Provider to populate the speed dial entries prior to end user delivery for Windows Mobile devices.

This Configuration Service Provider can be managed over both Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) Client Provisioning (formerly WAP Client Provisioning) and Open Mobile Alliance Device Management (OMA DM) protocols.

The following table shows the default settings for all parameters in this Configuration Service Provider. The default security role maps to each subnode unless specific permission is granted to the subnode.

Note

Access to this Configuration Service Provider is determined by Security roles. Because OEMs and Mobile Operators can selectively disallow access, ask them about the availability of this Configuration Service Provider. For more information about roles, see Security Roles and Default Roles for Configuration Service Providers.

The following image shows the management object used by OMA DM.

Note

For OMA DM protocol the SpeedDial Configuration Service Provider handles the Replace command differently from most other configuration service providers. For the SpeedDial Configuration Service Provider, Configuration Manager implicitly adds the missing part of the node to be replaced or any segment in the path of the node if it is left out in the <LocURI></LocURI> block.

The following image shows the Configuration Service Provider in tree format as used by OMA Client Provisioning.
