This message determines whether the contents of an edit control have been modified.

Syntax

EM_GETMODIFY 
    wParam = 0; 
    lParam = 0;

Parameters

  • wParam
    Not used; set to 0.
  • lParam
    Not used; set to 0.

Return Value

TRUE indicates that the content of edit control has been modified. FALSE indicates otherwise.

Remarks

The system maintains an internal flag indicating whether the content of the edit control has been changed. This flag is cleared when the edit control is first created; alternatively, an application can send an EM_SETMODIFY message to the edit control to clear the flag.
