Deploy Manufacturing data solutions in Microsoft Fabric (preview)

Important

Some or all of this functionality is available as part of a preview release. The content and the functionality are subject to change.

There are two ways to deploy Manufacturing data solutions: through the Solution Center or the Azure portal. Both methods require preconfiguration, deployment steps, and post-deployment configurations.

Solution Center deployment

The Microsoft Cloud Solution Center is a platform designed to streamline the deployment and configuration of Microsoft industry cloud solutions. It provides a centralized view of industry cloud capabilities, enhancing the provisioning experience across services like Microsoft 365, Azure, Dynamics 365, and Power Platform. The Cloud Solution Center simplifies the deployment process, verifies licensing requirements, and ensures all necessary components are in place.

The Solution Center deployment supports both Fabric and Azure resources, whereas the Azure portal requires extra preconfiguration steps for setting up Fabric resources.

Azure portal deployment

The Azure portal is a web-based interface for managing and configuring Azure resources. It offers a unified view of all your Azure services, simplifying monitoring and management. To deploy a Resource Provider (RP) resource through the Azure portal, follow these steps:

  1. Register the RP with Azure by specifying the required parameters and configurations.
  2. Deploy the RP resource by selecting it from the Azure portal, configuring its settings, and specifying the deployment details.
  3. Monitor the deployment process and manage the deployed resources through the portal.

This process ensures that your RP resources are seamlessly integrated and managed within the Azure ecosystem.

Note

Currently, the Azure portal deployment is more robust, as deployment through the Solution Center is a new functionality and continues to evolve.
