As expressões de consulta permitem consultar uma fonte de dados e colocar os dados no formato desejado. As expressões de consulta fornecem suporte para LINQ em F#.

As expressões de consulta são um tipo de expressão de computação semelhante às expressões de sequência. Assim como você especifica uma sequência fornecendo código em uma expressão de sequência, especifica um conjunto de dados fornecendo código em uma expressão de consulta. Em uma expressão de sequência, a palavra-chave yield
identifica os dados a serem retornados como parte da sequência resultante. Em expressões de consulta, a palavra-chave select
executa a mesma função. Além da palavra-chave select
, o F# também oferece suporte a vários operadores de consulta que são muito parecidos com as partes de uma instrução SQL SELECT. Aqui está um exemplo de uma expressão de consulta simples, juntamente com o código que se conecta à fonte Northwind OData.

No exemplo de código anterior, a expressão de consulta está entre chaves. O significado do código na expressão é retornar todos os clientes da tabela Clientes no banco de dados nos resultados da consulta. As expressões de consulta retornam um tipo que implementa IQueryable<T> e IEnumerable<T>, e, portanto, podem ser iteradas usando o módulo Seq como mostra o exemplo.
Cada tipo de expressão de computação é construído a partir de uma classe de construtor. A classe do construtor para a expressão de cálculo de consulta é QueryBuilder

Operadores de Consulta
Os operadores de consulta permitem especificar os detalhes da consulta, como colocar critérios nos registros a serem retornados ou especificar a ordem de classificação dos resultados. A fonte de consulta deve oferecer suporte ao operador de consulta. Se você tentar usar um operador de consulta não suportado, System.NotSupportedException
será gerado.
Somente expressões que podem ser traduzidas para SQL são permitidas em expressões de consulta. Por exemplo, nenhuma chamada de função é permitida nas expressões quando você usa o operador de consulta where
.
A Tabela 1 mostra os operadores de consulta disponíveis. Além disso, consulte a Tabela2, que compara as consultas SQL e as expressões de consulta F# equivalentes posteriormente neste tópico. Alguns operadores de consulta não são compatíveis com alguns provedores de tipo. Em particular, o provedor de tipo OData é limitado nos operadores de consulta aos quais ele dá suporte devido a limitações no OData.
