Missing Index in SQL 2016 Local Help -- Fixed

We recently resolved the issue of missing index keywords in the SQL Server 2016 local Help.

To view the index keywords in the Help Viewer 2.2 (Index pane), do the following:

1.Open Help Viewer 2.2, either from SQL Server 2016 Management Studio (version 13.0.12500.29 or later) or from Visual Studio 2015.

2.In the Manage Content tab (right-hand pane), click Remove next to the following content sections:

  • SQL Server 2016 Technical Documentation
  • SQL Server Management Tools with SSMS
  • SQL Shared Language Reference
  • SQL Server 2016 Tutorials

ManageContentTab_BlogPost

3.Click Update.

4.After the Update process has completed, click Add next to the same content sections. Be sure to select Online as the Installation source.

  • SQL Server 2016 Technical Documentation
  • SQL Server Management Tools with SSMS
  • SQL Shared Language Reference
  • SQL Server 2016 Tutorials

5.Click Update again.

After the Update process completes again, you should now see the index keywords in the Index tab for the topics included in these content sections.
