Hi, I'm John Kennedy from the Mobile Embedded Division's UA team - in other words, Help files.

I thought I'd do a quick post here to point you at my own blog, because I'm testing out a theory on a new way to present Help, and I'd like your opinion. If you have a few seconds, follow this link, and then shoot me some feedback.

    Hi,

    I have an Audiovox Smartphone 5600. The unit's version of Explorer does not support frames. Is there an upgrade or alternate browser I can install to remedy this?

    There is currently no version of IE Mobile for Windows Smartphone that supports frames.

    There may be other 3rd party browser solutions available that do support frames.

    Hi John,

    I am a software engineer developing SmartPhone applications using VS.NET 2003 + C# + SmartPhone 2003 SDK

    We are required to create PayPal application in SmartPhone. I want to know if PayPal application can run on the SmartPhone 2003. Please help me out in this.

    Varun, Doesn't it make sense to ask PayPal their availble interfaces. It's hardly a question for Microsoft.

    I NEED Help...

    I have 10 users of various Pocket PC devices that utilize Activesync with mobile schedules set to sync "as items arrive". This feature has been working beautifully for over a year. For some reason, it has just stopped. I have Exchange 2003 SP1 on a Windows 2000 server and am not aware of any changes that have been made to our configuration.

    In addition, if I keep the PPC cradled it DOES auto-sync with Exchange Server (even though it may not have sync'd with the Desktop).

    I can set the mobile schedule to sync at specific intervals (every 5, 10, etc minutes) and it works... just no more auto-update. I have searched Technet and every other resource I can find and don't see anything that can help me. Can you shed some light on this problem? Thanks in advance for any assistance you can give me.

    I am BSP ,device driver devoper for Windows Mobile ..I was looking for help in Building OS , Configuring IE , NEtowrk Devices , Registry settings for Windows Mobile and the current help did not provide me any information .Correct me if i am wrong .

    I am running windows mobile 5.0 on my pda. I have autoconfigured my POP3 (btinternet.com)email acount into outlook and it has downloaded the inbox. BUT, I can't seem to send or recieve new mail. Every item I try to send just sits in the Outbox doing nothing, and when I send e-mail to the account, it never shows up in the inbox. PLEASE HELP!!!

    I'm running windows mobile 5 and I'm not able to open files on my desktop stored on my PPC via ActiveSync.  What do I need to do to be able to play with my files on my desktop that have been stored on my phone's memory?

    I have a T-mobile SDA and i have been trying to get new skins for my windows mobile. But every time I try to apply them on i go to options/skins on my menu on the WMP (windows media player) and it says searching for skins but the never show up only the current default skin? I've been told, when i called my customer service for T-mobile, i need to put in a folder name Skins/(name of skin) After i unzipe the skin then into my mobile device under (Program files/Windows Media Player) it shows up when i manually search for it on my device but never when i try to apply it as the new skin!     My PDA will not allow me to edit contacts.  It seems to be in some mode that will allow it to select multiple contacts, but not open just one to edit.  I have searcht eh web and can not find any info.  Any help would be great.

    Hello everyone, I have windows mobile 5.0 and everything that come with it on my Verizon phone.   I have a question concerning mobile excel. I'm rather skilled with excel (on a PC) and I am trying to create that "pulldown list" effect using data validation for my cells. Is this feature not supported?  If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it. If it does not, does anyone know something comparable that would work?  Maybe Palm software?  Thanks again.     Windows Mediaplayer not able to find skins, the default skn is avaliable under Program Files->Windows Media Player. This files basically gives a link to Window<Skins Name>. I have check skin file and its corresponding gif files are there under Windows directory still its not able not find!! Please share with me the fix!! Thanks Tango

    I just got my MDA from T-mobile. It's my 1st smart/PDA phone...so I am a bit lost. My question is how do you enable different encodings in IE? For instance in the desktop version of IE; if you go to View --> encoding; you can select different languages to view foreign websites. Is there a download for the IE mobile version?

    Hi, I just bought a Treo 750 running WM5. I have a big challenge with the font sizes. I have set the Font size to the maximum possible (and enabled ClearType). This changes things like the contacts book and the calendar. However, the messages that come up (eg who is calling etc), still seem to use a default font of some kind. Making it VERY difficult for me to read it without reading glasses. Any suggestions would be appreciated Thanks Dinesh

    Hi, I was using an Audiovox XV6600 which used activesync 3.7 with windows mobile 2003 and i had all my contacts stored on my pc... When my phone kicked the bucket I wasn't worried about it because I had all my contacts in tact and I just bought a Motorola Q... Then I upgraded to Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5 and suddenly all my contacts were gone... can you please help me?

    I've spent hours on the phone with Verizon on this and cannot seem to find a solution. I'll open google maps and it'll automatically dial into the EVDO network and connects just fine. It'll show the last place I had open and It allows me to use it just fine. After being connected for a short period (between 20 and 40 seconds) the Loading... bar will just freeze. After a few minutes of sitting there it finally gives me the dreaded: "This program requires a data connection... (snip)... Error: wininetHttpError [0 12019]" This seems to be a problem with google not communicating with the phone to "check" if the connection is active, and if it is not to "restart" the connection. I've done many soft resets, uninstalls, upgraded from the first version to version 1.2.0.9. Everything to no avail. I took the final step of doing a hard reset on the phone thinking for sure it would fix things. it didn't. I use google maps on my phone ALL THE TIME, and the live traffic is especially useful since i live in Los Angeles. Please help me with this!!! P.S. I've seen hundreds of posts reporting the same problem on many different phones/carriers but haven't seen a single solution yet. XV 6700 - Windows Mobile 5.0 - Google Maps version 1.2.0.9 Thanks!

    How do you display more than one appointment in the Today screen.  Don't say Start/Settings/Today/Items/Calendar/Options/Display/Upcoming appointments.  I've done that and only the next appointment shows up although I have several that should show up.

    I'm having problems seeing the whole screen on some programs.  The input device bar at the bottom of the screen is covering up buttons or part of program screen.  Is there a way to hide the input bar?

    i've noticed that my TyTN II is not able to sync at all while i'm using Remote Desktop or even after i have closed Remote Desktop.  does anyone else experience this or have a fix/workaround? situation: a laptop syncing with a WM6 Pro device.  A desktop using Remote Desktop to display that laptop.  when i connect the WM6 device to the laptop, this error occurs. details: the laptop is running Vista Ult.32 bit. The desktop is running Vista Ult.64 bit.  Both with latest updates. HTC TyTN II is running Windows Mobile 6 Professional and is using both USB and Bluetooth for Sync (but not at the same time). any comments or solutions? thanks all.

    Hi I have a iPaQ 6525 and windows vista 32bit. I have downloaded and installed the mobile device center to my conpuer. The installation process was completed successfully, yet my problem relies in Microsoft Outlook. I cannot seem to synchronize Outlook to my iPaQ correctly. It would mean a great deal to me if you could help me, for I've looked all around and there seems to be no one that will point me in the right direction.     Please tell me why Win Media Player Mobile suddenly says "an unexpected error has occured" when I try to open a song. I open WMP Mobile, click "My Music" under "Library", click "All Music", and then the message pops up. HTC 8525, WinMob 6, all music saved on memory card Thanks toogiefly@yahoo.com

    Nice to find an expert for Windows Mobile Help system. I have finished an application on Windows Mobile 6 (WinCE OS 5.2). Now it is required to add my own help document into the main help document. It means the third part document should be accessible from start->help.  Do you any suggestion? Thanks yoc.chen@gmail.com

    I've updated my Samsung i780 to Win modile 6.1 There is one sigle access point configured (ibox.tim.it) Whe I launch Explorer the phone connects to wap.tim.it even if has been cancelled. Is there any hidden regiter where explorer keep its last connection used? If I'm in WiFi coverage no way, explorer exit on GRPR through wap.tim.it dammm

    I have an Lg Ct810 [incite]...i have been trying to get skins for My Pocket Pc Windows Media Player, but it only says "searching for skins"..it takes forever and nothing appears!!!!....help ASAP Please!!
