Week of March 25: New blogs from Windows Server/System Center MVPs

Hi, all, Christa Anderson here with this week’s MVP blog update. Here’s a quick overview of what the MVPs have in store for you this week. Check the blog links below for details.

In how-to news this week, Roberto di Lello and Darren Mar-Elia posted blogs and videos about using Group Policy, Aidan Finn explains how to simulate bandwidth-challenged networks for demos, and Dubravko Marak posted his latest installment of his Windows Intune survival guide. Marnix Wolf explains how to install Ubuntu for demoing X-Plat, and James van den Berg explains how to use App Controller to deploy into Windows Azure.

Looking for background or resources? Aidan Finn posts about his new Hyper-V book (coauthored with other MVPs and a member of the Microsoft field), and Carsten Rachfal interviews him about the book in a videoblog. Peter Dallmans continues his series of his favorite features in Configuration Manager 2012 SP1. Helge Klein has created uberAgent for Splunk and explains how to use it for application metering. Freek Berson gives a review of his experiences so far with RD Session Host and Windows Server 2012, and points to a blog about VDI licensing.

For local events, if you’re in Ireland or the Netherlands, check out Aidan Finn’s and Hans Vreedevoort’s blogs on local events there. Thomas Maurer announces that he’ll be at the E2EVC VDI event in Copenhagen in May. And Amy Babinchak blogs about her online events covering Hyper-V inplace upgrades, Exchange Rollup 6, and other topics.

Finally, for KBs, check out the blog posts announcing the new cumulative update for Configuration Manager SP1, workarounds for a SCOM installation bug, and a new KB for Clustering.

Enjoy!
