Introducing the Visual Studio ALM Rangers – Steven Lange

This post is part of an ongoing series of Rangers introductions. See An index to all Rangers covered on this blog for more details.

Who you are?profile 1-small

Steve Lange, Sr. Developer Technology Specialist, Microsoft

What makes you “tick”?

It’s incredibly rewarding to build something that people thank you for later.  By “build”, it can be software, a service, or even a Lego tower for my son.

Where do you live?

I live just south of Denver, Colorado.  I’ve been here since late 2007, when I moved from Southern California.

Where is the place you call home?

That’s tough.  I was born and raised in Northern California, and lived in Southern California for 11 years.  But these last 3 in Colorado are making it more “home” by the day.

Why are you active in the Rangers program?

The ALM Rangers team is a terrific program to promote the best use of Microsoft’s ALM technologies.  The Rangers fill technical gaps, influence the product, and create a “ripple effect” of ALM evangelists in not only Microsoft, but our customers as well.

What is the best Rangers project you worked in and why?

The TFS Requirements Management Guidance by far!  RM is near to my heart, having experienced first-hand the pitfalls of poorly handled and integrated requirements.
