The 2011 Microsoft Product Roadmap When we published our roadmap of Microsoft products last year at this time, we knew 2011 would have a tough act to follow. After all, in 2010 Microsoft released new versions of Office, SharePoint and SQL Server, among others products. But as we looked at the pipeline for this year, it turned out there were quite a few new products coming to the channel from Redmond.

Windows Phone Mango
Mango is a substantial upgrade, offering a wealth of features both for users—including Twitter and LinkedIn integration, Facebook and Windows Live Messenger chat, a hugely improved Web browser, turn-by-turn navigation, and rich Bing integration—and developers—a far more complete, capable API, limited multitasking, greater integration with built-in phone features—alike.

Forrester: IE 9 Can Bring Companies $3 Million Over 3 Years
Upgrading from Internet Explorer 8 to IE 9 can represent a significant cost benefit to organizations -- more than $3 million over three years, in fact. That was the conclusion of a Microsoft-commissioned study published in June by Forrester Research.
