The Cloud on Your Terms

Thousands have gathered at the sold-out Microsoft SharePoint Conference 2011 in California. On day two of the conference we are providing another, exciting resource to help you transition to the cloud on your terms, the “Hybrid SharePoint Environments with Office 365” white paper.

A hybrid SharePoint deployment combines Microsoft SharePoint Online in Office 365 with on-premises Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010. Organizations choose hybrid environments so that they can begin to take advantage of the cost savings and reduced complexity of cloud computing. -- Hybrid environments help customers preserve existing investments as they transition partially or gradually to the cloud.

With SharePoint Online and SharePoint 2010, the two installations that make up a hybrid environment are largely separate. Approaching the design of a hybrid solution thoughtfully, using several of Office 365’s features, can helps bridge the gap between two, distinct deployments to create a robust, hybrid environment. If you are considering this transition, I hope you will learn more about deploying the cloud on your terms from step-by-step guidance in the white paper.

See today's post from the SharePoint team to learn more, and access the white paper "Hybrid SharePoint Environments with Office 365".
