So as a device developer what should you expect ? Some big areas we touched upon were:

  • We Added Development Support for Windows Embedded 6.0 platform based devices
Ability to develop using SQL Server 2005 Compact Edition
Added 15 Device Side MFC Classes to MFC for Devices
Fixed issues with eVC to VS 2005 Migration Wizard
Updated to the latest Version of Device Side Native Compilers
Included the latest versions of the  Windows CE Remote Tools

and many other bug fixes both from our team as well as other teams we work with.

Thanks

Amit

I just installed SP1 two hours ago and can't deploy to my CE 5 device.  It's an ARM4 device.  I looked in the release notes and saw an issue about them, but the lines I was supposed to add to the TypeMaps file were already there.  Please help.  I also tried backing up and removing all files from the 1.0 folder in corecon but it didn't work.  I haven't used any of the betas, but at this point I'll try anything. Thanks in advance, glamiac AT comcast DOT net

The reference for this is: http://blogs.msdn.com/mikehall/archive/2006/10/03/CE-6.0_3A00_-Writing-a-managed-application-using-VS-2005_2E00_.aspx You need to copy new target files to your ce device. They were updated on your PC during the install. The files are located in: C:Program FilesCommon FilesMicrosoft SharedCoreCon1.0targetwce400
