Any chance I can proof read your follow up article? I would love to do so. I'm writing a new architecture called EntitySpaces that will use that technique, it was unclear if your previous article was 1.1 and your TypeDescriptionProvider is the "new" way to do it, you really left that ambiguous? - Anonymous

Hi Mike-
Thanks for the offer, but the May issue containing the article has already been printed and is on its way to subscribers tomorrow. So, if you subscribe to the magazine, you should get it in the mail soon. If not, it'll be on newstands and online mid-April on the magazine's Web site at http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdnmag.
The column in the April issue was entirely about a 1.x solution. While the same approach will work just fine in the .NET Framework 2.0, 2.0 improves things by introducing TypeDescriptionProvider, which makes the same type of solution cleaner and more robust (so yes, for many things it'll be the "new" way, if for no other reason than it requires less code to make it work). As you'll see, it still takes advantage of ICustomTypeDescriptor, but adds more functionality and integration on top of the type descriptor framework established in 1.x.
Hope that helps,
