RSH and RCP on Windows 2008

You may face issues while using RSH and RCP in Windows 2008. Analyzing the network trace will reveal that RSH has trim down the username while sending the query. As a result the RSH authentication fails. One workaround to this issue is to download Services for Unix 3.5 from https://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=896c9688-601b-44f1-81a4-02878ff11778&displaylang=en and extract RSH and RCP binary from it.

Then you can easily replace (copy and paste) these binaries with the one’s present in Windows 2008. I tested it in one of the environment and it works!

On Windows 2008 RSH and RCP commands are not available. You need to use Subsystem for UNIX Based Application. Once you install that; RSH and RCP command will be available in new sub-systems. BTW, when you say "Also, i tried copy the RSH & RCP command & the dll to windows 2008. it run failed"; what exactly the error message? What steps you took to get those binaries?
