Exciting news from Ignite 2016

Hi All

Ignite 2016 is on at the moment in the US. There have been some exciting news coming through in the event. The following links cover the key highlights:

I am personally, particularly excited about:

  • Skype Room Systems
Today, we're announcing the next generation of Skype Room Systems (formerly Project Rigel). Skype Room Systems bring the Skype for Business meeting experience, with rich HD audio and video, to every meeting room. With the new Skype Room Systems, your team can work like you're all in one place, quickly and easily join meetings, make phone calls, and instantly share content in the room and remotely—all from an elegant touch screen console device. Transform your meeting rooms and make any space a Skype meeting place. Logitech SmartDock for Skype Room System bundles are available to reserve today, and will start shipping in a few weeks. You can also reserve Crestron's Skype Room Systems, shipping at the end of this year, and the Polycom MSR Series for Skype Room Systems, which will start shipping early first quarter of 2017.
  • Polycom RealConnect for Office365
We are also pleased to announce the preview of Polycom RealConnect Service for Office365. This service, hosted on Microsoft Azure, enables non-native video teleconference (VTC) systems from Cisco and others to join a Skype for Business meeting. This means you can keep your existing investments and non-Skype for Business endpoint devices can leverage Skype for Business Meetings all in a seamless experience.
  • Preview of Skype Translator in Skype Broadcast Meetings
We also announced a preview of translation and transcription capabilities will roll out in Skype Meeting Broadcasts by the end of 2016. Exciting!

Happy Skype'ing

Steve

Thanks for the awesome Office 365. But as an windows phone user, I think you should concentrate on Windows phone skype features rather than updating the apps for other platforms
