Running Opics Plus on SQL Server 2012 increases performance in scenarios with heavy database utilization
Mysis Opics Plus is an out-of-the-box solution that helps financial institutions consolidate and streamline treasury processing, increase STP rates, reduce the cost of transactions, minimize reconciliation, and provide strategic web access for their customers. As part of their partnership, Misys and Microsoft worked together to compare the performance of Opics Plus running on SQL Server 2012 to the performance of Opics Plus running on SQL Server 2008 R2. Test scenarios were designed based on customer feedback about future performance requirements, and replicated the demands of typical small, medium, and large financial organizations.
The benchmark test results showed significant performance improvements with Opics Plus running on SQL Server 2012 in test scenarios that had heavy database utilization, such as end-of-day batch processing and trade entry through the Opics Plus Web API. Opics Plus running on SQL Server 2012 was approximately 15% faster at running end-of-day batch processes than on SQL Server 2008 R2, with a 50,000 trade database. In addition, Opics Plus running on SQL Server 2012 was approximately 27% faster processing trade entries through the Opics Plus Web API. These results confirmed that Opics Plus running on SQL Server 2012 and Windows Server 2008 R2 is a highly responsive system capable of meeting the needs of financial organization of any size.
