- Resources to Run Open Source Stacks on Windows Azure: Resources for running Java, Apache Tomcat, PHP, RoR, Node, Scala, and Python on Azure.
- Using the Windows Azure SDK for PHP command-line tools on Linux: Step-by-step instructions for using the Windows Azure SDK for PHP command line tools on Linux.
- Video Tutorial – How to add identity to mobile applications – Windows Phone 7 and the Access Control Service – Facebook, Yahoo, Google, Live ID: The only thing the title of the post doesn’t tell you is how detailed the post is.
- Web Platform Installer v4 command line (WebPICMD.exe) Preview Release: The Web Platform Installer v4 (WebPI) command line tool is now available as a separate download. This should be handy for creating start up scripts for Azure deployments.
- Azure Downloader: This looks very interesting…it is a Windows service which you can run inside your Web Role to sync website contents with a file stored in Blob storage.
- Windows Azure Toolkit for Windows Phone: v1.3.2 was released on November 29th.
- Build the Future in the Cloud: The Microsoft Imagine Cup 2012 Windows Azure Challenge is about leveraging Windows Azure platform features to build a web application in the cloud.
- Microsoft Codename “Data Transfer”: An easy-to-use Web application to move your data into SQL Azure or Windows Azure Blob storage.
- Preview Release of the SQL Server ODBC Driver for Linux: A preview release of the SQL Server ODBC Driver for Linux is now available for download.
- MongoDB on Microsoft Azure: A new preview release of the MongoDB controller for Azure is available.
- Greenfoot: Teach & Learn Java Programming: A neat site for visually learning Java in your browser.
- Why You Don’t Get Mock Objects: Great presentation on mock objects in Ruby testing. Really helped me understand when and why to use mocks.
- HDFS, the cartoon edition: Cute cartoon that explains how the Hadoop Distributed File System works
- Node-Toolbox: A site that lists Node packages, what’s popular, recently added, etc.
- LDAPjs: A framework for implementing LDAP clients in Node.js. If you aren’t familiar with LDAP, they have a guide for that – https://ldapjs.org/guide.html.
- Node.js and MongoDB: Beginner’s guide on using Node and MongoDB together.
