    One clarification... visualize the section of the WSUS where the left side is "All Microsoft Products" and the right side is "update, drivers, securty patches, bla, bla, bla"

    The left side of "All Microsoft products" can't be changed from that selection of "All MS Products" without the SBS's WSUS changing to the blue check (meaning that SBS's WSUS is no longer controlling) .  Thus, it's designed to ensure that as new products come online the server will pick up those new products.

    You can mess with the right side of that screen and the SBS's WSUS will still control, you can't mess with the left side where that "all MS products" is.
