Photosynth

I took a look at Photosynth today from Microsoft Live Labs. It constructs 3-D models of objects like buildings from hundreds of still photographs. It's impressive : you can view a scene from nearly any angle and zoom in on the smallest detail. The fly around effect is pretty cool. I took a look at the Piazza San Pietro collection (see left) - worth a look!

Apparently they're working on something where you could make your own collection, but no timetable available as yet.
