Updated: Resources for Learning Windows Presentation Foundation (Beta 2 edition)
I've updated my "Resources for learning Windows Presentation Foundation" article to contain links to Beta 2-compatible material.
There's a new WPF Community Site online, which is part of a bigger community site for all the .NET 3.0 / WinFX technologies). On that site you'll find Beta 2 versions of most of the Windows Presentation Foundation Hands-On Labs.
My Resources for Learning WPF article now lists all the links you need to download and install the Beta 2 runtime and developer components of WinFX. To summarize my recommendations for learning WPF:
- Read A Guided Tour of the Windows Presentation Foundation on MSDN
- Visit and subscribe to the WPF community site
- Install the beta bits (see links here), and go through the 3 Fabrikam walkthroughs in Expression
- Follow up with the Windows Presentation Foundation Hands-On Labs which are compatible with the above bits
I hope this helps - and, as I mentioned at the end of my INDC presentation in March (and would have mentioned last night in Galway), if you are interested in building something amazing with WPF between now and its launch, I'd love to hear from you.
