Give me my free Express Edition stuff!
When you register any of the Visual Studio 2005 Express Editions, you get all kinds of free stuff:
- 250 royalty-free stock photography images
- Free Windows Icons
- Third-party components from Microsoft partners
- Free eBooks including "Build a Web Site Now!"
But where do you get the free stuff? If (like me) you lost the e-mail that you received after registration, just head straight to the Visual Studio 2005 Registration Benefits Portal. You can sign in there any time with the same Passport account you used to register Visual Studio Express.
There's some great stuff in there! The WebPlanner Control, from ComponentScience, looks like an online calendar, and you can try it here.
Those icons above are part of the IconBuffet Studio Suite (which require you register a version of Express other than Web Developer to get for free).
The free stock images from Corbis are also really nice. They're high-res enough to be practical for website use.
Finally, we took a quick look at the the Build a Web Site Now eBook; it looks like a good resource for beginners. I'd appreciate feedback from anyone who's given it a try.

Paschal, I just tried again; it seems to work for me... it requires that you've registered Express against whatever Passport account you visit the Registration page with...
