GDC06: XNA Framework == C# on the Xbox 360!!

News from the Game Developers Conference: C# on the Xbox 360!

In a previous life, I had a very positive experience writing a graphics engine end-to-end in C#.  All I can say to this announcement is: awesome.

Here is the XNA page on MSDN.  Here's another thoughtful discussion of this news.

[Update: just to be sure you don't lose the run of yourself (like I did), you require a development kit in order to develop managed code applications for the Xbox 360 today.]

[Update 2: Thanks to the ZMan for the suggested update to the title of this post]

    Rob, you shoudl clarify:

    XNA FRAMEWORK = C3/CLR on Xbox 360 (yes only a dev kit right now)

    XNA Studio = Team System with bonus goodies for game developers
