Ajax to the Max
Through Avalonian Chris Sells comes a link to Ajax to the Max, in the form of https://www.bindows.net
Just select the demo, click around a bit, see what these guys have done to re-create the WinForms interface. Then have a think about the future of the web.
As Chris points out, I have no idea what it's like to actually work with an application like this. I also have no idea what it's like to actually experience writing one. That's 2 whimsical Ajax-related musings in almost as many days...

Stuff that goes this far seems like it can hardly be worth it. It would be 10x easier to just develop a Windows app, than to do all this work to make web pages look like Windows. The phrase "right tool for the job" comes to mind. It is really that important to reach those few non-Windows users out there, that people would use this instead of a native Windows app? - Anonymous

Why some MSDN blogs allow to post a comment while others don't?? - Anonymous

Henry - it's up to the individual blogger; we can choose whether or not to allow comments. (I encourage them!)
Speaking of which - Between PatriotB and lexp we seem to have two angles on the discussion well characterized!
