RMSSUPP KB Article 01: RMS SP2 Error during install.

I have seen the following error creeping up more and more, so I thought I'd document it here un'officially' before having to jump through all of the hoops required to get a KB written.

You can say you saw it here first. :)

So here is the blogs very first un'official' KB.

Problem:
While installing Rights Management Services SP1/SP2 users may receive the following error:

An error occurred during the provisioning process --> Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation --> The service cannot be started , either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.

Cause:
This error will occur if either of the following is true:

1. The COM+ System Application Service is set to disabled.
2. The DCOM Server Process Launcher is set to disabled.

Resolution:

1. Set the COM+ System Application Service to manual.
2. Set the DCOM Server Process Launcher to Automatic, and start it.

Tip: You can get into your services console by going to Start>Run>Type:services.msc

Status:

Yep, it's a pretty generic, and uninformative message. I'm checking to see what can be done to make it a little more 'friendly'

Hope this helps someone looking online for this error.
