Next? Oracle to bet $3.3 billion on BI?

Oracle's intention to buy Hyperion for big bucks is more evidence that the war for executive mindshare is heating up: Oracle says to buy rival Hyperion for $3.3 billion (Reuters Business News : MSN Money) I wonder what the BI skeptics think now.

I hope this doesn't mean that Hyperion will be boycotting the Microsoft Business Intelligence Conference this year... And because they've got some cool analytics toys, I also hope that Hyperion will continue to be a great business partner.

The consolidation continues...
