SQL Server on Windows 7

SQL Server is supported on Windows 7, but you may need to apply the latest Service Pack level to be supported.

If you will be setting up a SQL Server 2008 cluster on Windows 7, you will need to perform a slipstream installation. See here for details.

Ensure you are running the correct Service Pack language, otherwise the service pack will not update all components.

service pack itself is not getting installed error [Error Message] There are no SQL Server instances or shared features that can be updated on this computer. ================================================================================

About to buy SQL 2008 server for small business and at this MS link msdn.microsoft.com/.../ms143506.aspx It says "Operating systems listed in the SQL Server Standard sections are also supported for SQL Server Standard for Small Business" Other places say explicitly that the small business edition will only work in small business server 2008 environment - we want to install in Windows 7 Which is right?
