What is Office Genuine Advantage (OGA) Notifications?

OGA notifications is a part of Microsoft’s Genuine Software Initiative. It is delivered as a voluntary download via Microsoft Update. Once downloaded, OGA notifications validates the copy of Office on the user’s machine. If Office is genuine, there is absolutely no impact. If Office is not genuine, dialog box notifications will appear twice each day informing the user that their copy of Office is not genuine. There is never a loss of functionality – the OGA notifications tool is designed to educate the user so they can take action to get genuine.

On 3 February the Office Genuine Advantage (OGA) Notifier will be launched throughout Australia. The OGA notifier will help customers and partners combat software piracy by letting them know if their software is genuine or not. Your customers can obtain the OGA Notifier as an optional download through MS Update. Owners of non-licensed versions will be prompted to validate their copy of Office.
